The beach is located next to the famous Balcón de Europa. You can enter it by a small porch left of the Balcon de Europa where stairs are zig-zagging going down. It looks quite steep, but it is not exhausting. It’s a beautiful beach with some fisher boats. Calahonda is one of several beaches where you can still see old fishermen’s houses or the warehouses built on the rocks and even in the rocks. It became famous by the tv series “Verano Azul”.
Features
The beach is about 120 meters long by 20 meters wide. The sand is dark and it is of a medium grain. The waves here are generally moderate. During the summer the beach offers a restaurant, a lifeguard and flag service. On the beach is a shower and sunbeds rental is offered. Not accesible for disabled people (stairs).
