Parque Natural de las Sierras Tejeda, Armijara y Alhama which is situated in the south, close to the coast. It is partly situated in the province of Malaga and partly in the province of Granada. It is 40.663 ha big and has a lot of pine trees and carved canyons.

The park has fast flowing rivers and spectacular waterfalls like the “Los Arboles Pertificados” where the water has petrified old tree trunks that where stucked when the fall down a waterfall.

The park is crossed by the main rivers Rio Cacin, Rio Verde and Rio Grande. Several comagnies are organizing rafting and canyoning activities on the Rio Verde. The part that is situated in the province of Malaga is descibed in the different sub chapters.
