The beach of Maro, known as “La Caleta de Maro” and was nominated in June 2014 as the second best beach in Spain by the Antena 3 TV channel. The beach has a natural environment which gives it a special charm, Although it is not official a nudist beach, some people take all their cloths off. From the last roundabout in El Maro (in the direction of La Herradura) signs will lead you down to the Maro beach but it is recommended to park you car at the parking below the church. Walk down and pass a ruin at your right and take the road at the right that goes midway between two greenhouses. From this point you have to take a walk a few hundred meters down.
Features
The beach is about 500 meters long by 20 meters wide. The beach has dark sand and gravel of a medium grain. The waves are generally moderate. There are no any facilities.
